Biography:

Dr. Yan Li currently serves as deputy editor of Matter & Light and a senior scientific editor at Matter. He received his bachelor's degree from Tianjin University and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Tsinghua University. He then pursued postdoctoral work in surface chemistry and biosensors, first at the University of Houston and later at Wageningen University. Prior to joining Cell Press, he worked at Wiley, with over 10 years of experience as a journal editor.

Abstract:

This talk will provide a brief overview of the journals that Cell Press has launched in recent years in the field of materials science, with a particular focus on its flagship journal Matter, as well as the new title Matter & Light. The speaker will also cover key points to consider before and after submitting a manuscript, discuss the critical factors for successful publication, and address the proper use of AI in academic writing. We hope that this session will offer useful guidance for selecting journals and preparing manuscripts.
