Biography:
In 2011, Prof. Wang obtained his Ph.D. as a China Scholarship Council-sponsored candidate through the joint doctoral program between Zhejiang University and Harvard University. He has been affiliated with the Institute of Translational Medicine at Zhejiang University since 2013, progressing from Associate Professor to full Professor. His research interest includes cell surface chemical biology, by integrating chemical, biological, and engineering methodologies, aiming to develop innovative early disease diagnostics and personalized therapeutic interventions.

Abstract:

The cell represents the fundamental structural and functional unit of life. The cell surface acts as the critical interface for substance exchange, signal transduction, and energy transfer across the cellular membrane, governing cellular behaviors, intercellular communication, and molecular recognition between cells and the extracellular microenvironment. Decoding the biological functions of cell-surface molecules enables the development of chemical and biological tools to manipulate cell fate and cellular functions, thereby driving innovative strategies for disease diagnosis and therapeutics.
