Abstract: 

Liquid-based materials are composed of solids and liquids by interfacial physicochemistry design, where the liquids offer the main functional structural unit, and the solid materials offer frameworks and confinements for stabilizing liquid materials. These materials combine the characteristics of both solid and liquid materials and unique advantages in defect-free, fast dynamic response, soft interface, structural plasticity, etc. Additionally, liquid-based materials can also be combined with artificial intelligence, machine learning, and materials genome initiative, which have emerged in recent years, to further explore the interaction between solids and liquids, expand the design of the materials, improve their properties, and ensure their stability.
