Lithium Titanate as Anode for Li-ion Battery

Lithium ion (Li-ion) battery is a proven viable power sources for many applications and seen as a promising successor of next generation battery technology to propel electric vehicles. The material ¡V Lithium Titanate (with a composition of Li4Ti5O12) is used as the anode of the lithium battery.

While lithium titanate has attracted strong interests for its durability, there are certain drawbacks demanding further development. Its electrochemical window of 2.5V is relatively low compared to other lithium batteries.
