The X-Ray Crystallography Laboratory (XCL) in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Hong Kong provides single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction services for the researchers in our Department and HKU primarily, and with an extension to surrounding institutions and commercial customers.
Our main objective is to offer integrated structural characterization of single-crystal samples and polycrystalline powder materials from diffraction data collection to structure determination. Training on the operation of diffractometers and the use of crystallographic programs will be provided for selected users.
With the cutting-edge X-ray diffraction equipment and computing facilities housed in the XCL, we envisage that our services and trainings can facilitate both research and teaching in our Department and the HKU research community.
